Set in a remote Himalayan village perched 2,500 meters above sea level, this film follows Makar Singh—a young man caught between tradition and transformation. As his generation navigates shifting expectations and uncertain futures, Makar Singh balances the weight of family responsibilities with the pull of new ambitions, both personal and collective.
The village, nestled in the high ridges of Uttarakhand near the Tibetan border, lives under the shadow of the towering peaks Nanda Devi and Trishul. Life here has long been defined by subsistence farming and seasonal migration between mountain settlements. But change has arrived. Where once there was no road, electricity, or mobile signal, now young people carry smartphones and pursue university degrees.
Still, modern infrastructure hasn’t guaranteed opportunity. Jobs are scarce, and underemployment creates challenges. Yet people like Makar Singh are carving out new paths—fuelled by a quiet determination to build something better for their community.
